The band Emma Myldenberger from Weinheim an der Bergstraße – situated between the Rhine and the Odenwald – were playing folk music, using a wide choice of – partly medieval – instruments. Comparisons to groups like Ougenweide or Elster Silberflug suggest themselves. They mainly produced German lyrics, some of them Middle High German. The self-titled CD features all of the tracks of their first LP, taken from the master tapes, plus five bonus tracks: “Colchiques” had been recorded together with the LP, but at that time left unconsidered for a lack of space, and was only later released on the sampler “Folk & Rock” (Stockfisch SF 5018). The four other bonus tracks were recorded at a festival of the vocational school of Weinheim on September 24, 1977. One of them had been released already on the LP “Musik aus dem Odenwald”. GOD
