Prosper were coming from Bottrop, a town situated in the northwestern part of the Ruhr district area. Thinking of Bottrop reminds more of soot, refreshment kiosks, pubs on the corner, and pigeon breeders than of good music. But whoever might think that is fooled. In the early year of 1975 Prosper released their only LP “Broken door” (BTS 7511), a real masterpiece and now one of Garden of Delights’ better CDs. The sound has a psychedelic touch, is decent, imaginative, and never boring. Thanks to the guitarist Evert Brettschneider one can note, now and then, influences of jazz. Brettschneider performed too with the Contact Trio. By the way, co-founder of Prosper has been Jürgen Pluta who later did the bass with Wallenstein. In the CD’s booklet you can find – as usual – the band’s history in detail, a lot of photos, discographies etc. GOD
