Änglagård – Hybris (1992-2009) FLAC (tracks+.cue), lossless

Anglagard's haunting style is fully developed right off the bat with this first album. While all of the musicians are technically skilled, the songs are dramas written for their own sake, not for solos. Few of the melodies are memorable, but only due to their quantity and complexity. Hybris is a tense exercise of minor-chord compositions, and is more aggressive and condensed than their second album, Epilog, which has a richer feel. Patrick Little
